TAMPA, Fla. - Eden R. Banks, an associate attorney in the Banking & Insolvency Group of Glenn Rasmussen Fogarty & Hooker, P.A., recently received the 2010 Women in Strength Award, given by the Junior League of Manatee County, Inc. 

Eden was one of three women honored at a luncheon who have overcome significant obstacles to achieve personal and professional goals. The Women in Strength Awards Luncheon was started to create a project that allowed the strong, successful women of the community to serve as examples to the at-risk young ladies of PACE Center for Girls.

The Junior League of Manatee County, Inc. is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women and improving the community through effective action and leadership of trained volunteers.

Eden practices primarily in the areas of banking and insolvency, including Chapter 11 cases, mortgage foreclosures, workouts, lending transactions, lending-related litigation, and assignments for the benefits of creditors.  She is on the CLE Committee of the Tampa Bay Bankruptcy Bar Association and is actively involved with Bay Area Legal Services (Pro Bono Volunteer), 13th Judicial Circuit (Attorney Ad Litem), Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure (Florida Suncoast Affiliate) Teams Committee, and United Way of Tampa Bay (Hands on Tampa Bay Volunteer).  She received her J.D. degree from Harvard Law School and her B.A. from the University of Notre Dame.
