Trenton H. Cotney Receives AV Peer Review Rating in Martindale-Hubbell
10/21/2009
TAMPA, Fla. - Trenton H. Cotney, a shareholder in the Construction Law practice group of Glenn Rasmussen Fogarty & Hooker, P.A., has received an AV®  Preeminent Peer Review Rating in the Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory.  An AV certification mark is a significant rating accomplishment - a testament to the fact that a lawyer's peers rank him or her at the highest level of professional excellence.

The Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings evaluate lawyers in the United States and Canada based on the anonymous opinions of members of the Bar and the Judiciary, including both those who are rated and those who are not.  LexisNexis Martindale-Hubbell conducts secure online Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings surveys of lawyers across multiple jurisdictions and geographic locations, in similar areas of practice as the lawyer being rated.  Reviewers are instructed to assess their colleagues' general ethical standards and legal ability in a specific area of practice.

Board certified by The Florida Bar in Construction Law, Trent focuses his practice on construction-related issues, including litigation and arbitration, OSHA defense, lien law, bond law, bid protests, and construction document review and drafting.  He represents contractors, subcontractors, engineers, architects, suppliers, manufacturers, and other professionals in the construction industry.  Trent is a director and General Counsel of the Florida Roofing, Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors Association (FRSA), a director of West Coast Roofing Contractors' Association (WCRCA), and a member of Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC).  He has published more than 75 articles in 14 different publications on such topics as negligent design, delay damages, and defective workmanship, and has also conducted seminars on such topics as lien law and construction contract provisions.  Trent recently received the Byron Curry Award, given by the WCRCA, and the FRSA President's Award.  He has also been recognized in Florida Super Lawyers "Rising Stars" and Florida Trend's "Up and Coming" lists.
