TAMPA, Fla. - Glenn Rasmussen Fogarty & Hooker, P.A. announces that Trenton H. Cotney has been recognized by his peers in the 2009 Florida Trend "Up and Coming" Attorneys list.

Members of The Florida Bar made the selections.  They were asked to name three "best up and coming attorneys" who exhibit leadership in the law and in their local communities. Eligible attorneys have practiced law for no more than 10 years or are less than 40 years of age.  The list of top vote-getters was further examined using membership status and histories provided by The Florida Bar.   A panel of previous Legal Elite winners, representing different practice areas in cities across the state, reviewed the selection process and the list of finalists.

Board certified by The Florida Bar in Construction Law, Trent focuses his practice on construction-related issues, including litigation and arbitration, OSHA defense, lien law, bond law, bid protests, and construction document review and drafting.  He represents contractors, subcontractors, engineers, architects, suppliers, manufacturers, and other professionals in the construction industry.  Trent is a director and General Counsel of the Florida Roofing, Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors Association (FRSA), a director of West Coast Roofing Contractors' Association (WCRCA), and a member of Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC).  He has published more than 75 articles in 14 different publications on such topics as negligent design, delay damages, and defective workmanship, and has also conducted seminars on such topics as lien law and construction contract provisions.  He recently received the Byron Curry Award, given by the WCRCA, the FRSA President's Award, and has also been recognized in Florida Super Lawyers "Rising Stars" list.
