Trenton H. Cotney, a shareholder in the Construction Law practice group of Glenn Rasmussen Fogarty & Hooker, P.A., has been re-elected to the
Florida Roofing, Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Association (FRSA) Board of Directors and will serve a three-year term. He also serves as General Counsel to FRSA and is a frequent columnist in the association's publication.
FRSA focuses on encouraging a high standard of business ethics among members and educating the public on the importance of doing business with competent, ethical, and licensed companies. The FRSA Board of Directors is responsible for approving an annual budget and deciding on all fiscal matters and policy directions for the Association. While serving on the Board of Directors, Trent will assist in starting and fostering the various programs that support the goals of the association.
Board certified by The Florida Bar in Construction Law, Trent focuses his practice on construction-related issues, including litigation and arbitration, OSHA defense, lien law, bond law, bid protests, and construction document review and drafting. He represents contractors, subcontractors, engineers, architects, suppliers, manufacturers, and other professionals in the construction industry. Trent is a director of West Coast Roofing Contractors' Association (WCRCA) and a member of Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC). He has published more than 75 articles in 10 different publications on such topics as negligent design, delay damages, and defective workmanship, and has also conducted seminars on such topics as construction contract provisions and licensing issues. He recently received the FRSA President's Award, the Byron Curry Award, given by the WCRCA, and has also been recognized in Florida Trend's Legal Elite "Up & Coming" and Florida Super Lawyers "Rising Stars" lists.
