Trenton H. Cotney, a shareholder in the Construction Law practice group of Glenn Rasmussen Fogarty & Hooker, P.A., has been elected to the
Humane Society of Tampa Bay Board of Directors, where he will serve a three-year term of office.
As a member of the Board of Directors, Trent will work to raise the profile of the organization through many opportunities aligned with the mission of the organization. The Humane Society of Tampa Bay is dedicated to the welfare of all animals because of their intrinsic value and rights. Its primary purposes are the prevention of cruelty to animals, the relief of suffering among animals, the extension of humane education, and the provision of shelter-based services.
Board certified by The Florida Bar in Construction Law, Trent focuses his practice on construction-related issues, including litigation and arbitration, OSHA defense, lien law, bond law, bid protests, and construction document review and drafting. He represents contractors, subcontractors, engineers, suppliers, manufacturers, and other professionals in the construction industry. Trent serves as General Counsel to FRSA and is a frequent columnist in the association's publication. He has published more than 75 articles on such topics as negligent design, delay damages, and defective workmanship, and has also conducted seminars on such topics as mold and sick building litigation, construction contract provisions, and construction lien law. He received his J.D. degree from Vanderbilt University in 1999.
