TAMPA, Fla. - Trent Cotney, a shareholder in the Construction Law practice group of Glenn Rasmussen Fogarty & Hooker, P.A., has been appointed to the Florida Roofing, Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Association's (FRSA) Board of Directors.
FRSA focuses on encouraging a high standard of business ethics among members and educating the public on the importance of doing business with competent, ethical, and licensed companies. While serving on the Board of Directors, Trent will assist in starting and fostering the various programs that support the goals of the association. He also serves as General Counsel to FRSA and is a frequent columnist in the association's publication.
Board certified by The Florida Bar in Construction Law, Trent focuses his practice on construction-related issues, including litigation and arbitration, OSHA defense, lien law, bond law, bid protests, and construction document review and drafting. He represents contractors, subcontractors, engineers, suppliers, manufacturers, and other professionals in the construction industry. Trent has published more than 75 articles on such topics as negligent design, delay damages, and defective workmanship, and has also conducted seminars on such topics as mold and sick building litigation, construction contract provisions, and construction lien law. He received his J.D. degree from Vanderbilt University in 1999.
